Puppies are not all the same, each one has its own character.

Differences in character and temperament exist between puppies from the same litter and between different litters, even when they come from the same parents.

The temperament of the puppy does not depend on its sex nor on its color.

Breed selection provides many guarantees as to the characteristics of the Lagotto Dog and how it will be as an adult.

However, the path to bring your puppy to become a balanced adult dog we must make it as simple, short and linear as possible.

Well begun is half done… we are convinced of this!

Our clients trust our opinion, and although no one has a crystal ball, the temperament of the puppy or litter is well perceived.

The characteristics of Lagotto puppies

For us there are no Series A or Series B puppies.

Exuberant and brilliant, dominant puppies can be perfect for some owners and their families, but not recommended in other contexts.

The same is true of milder, more reserved puppies, and if they are gifted with a fine intellect, they are alert and discerning.

Almost all Lagotto Romagnolo puppies spend a week to ten days before they feel completely at home. This is typical of this breed.

After this period they show their temperament. The temperament and disposition that we generally notice even when they live within the litter and with their mother.

Owners will soon have to deal with puppies that want to know the world by biting anything.

They snuffle everywhere and want to understand if certain things are allowed or not. The family will soon have to perceive this change and begin to establish a loyal relationship made of games, exercises, but also rules to be respected. This is the best time to lay the foundation for a happy future.

The various situations and expectations for our Lagottos

A table as an example of some of the main situations in which our Lagottos have been entrusted. Situations that, at least in our eyes, show how different and sometimes incompatible are the characteristics that you require from your puppy.

In the matching the breeder can give a contribution!

SOME EXPLANATORY EXAMPLES:

• A breeding puppy should primarily be morphologically perfect and intelligent, never shy.
• A companion puppy for two boarders should not be overly exuberant, but rather more reserved and reserved.
• A companion puppy for a family with small children will need to have a strong character and be able to stand up to the manners of human puppies.
• A house in the country offers and requires things diametrically opposed to those of a city apartment.
• A Lagotto who is to spend time in the boat will have to have a different temperament from the Lagotto who is asked to go for nice runs and walks in the country or mountains or even to look for truffles.

Choosing a puppy for one family does not mean giving one of lesser value to another.

Putting together the different boxes of the table will try to mitigate those aspects that may be more decisive.
